UNDP-GLED Provision of Construction Management – Renovation of minor and medium Irrigation tanks and related structures, construction of community buildings, rehabilitation of rural piped water supply projects, renovation of rural roads, and other targeted interventions

The GLED Project – Governance for Local Economic Development Programme – is UNDP’s flagship Programme that supports socio‐economic recovery of conflict‐affected populations in the North, East and adjacent districts of Sri Lanka. 

The GLED supports sustainable development through integrated community and area‐based assistance for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities, through support to livelihoods, microfinance and micro‐enterprise development, community infrastructure development, housing, social transformation and community‐based environment management. 

The community based infrastructures consists of renovation of minor and medium tanks and related structures, construction of community buildings, renovation of rural roads, and other targeted interventions, in selected villages located in selected Districts.  GLED is directly implemented by UNDP through a network of field offices located in the target area. Region 01 – Jaffna, Kilinochchi, and Mullaithivu; Region 02 – Anuradhapura, Puttalam, Vavuniya and Mannar; Region 03 – Batticaloa, Monaragala and Ampara
