The objective of the project is to provide safe water and increase water supply efficiency in Kalutara District and Colombo District by augmenting Kalu Ganga water supply facilities and restructuring water distribution networks (including pipe rehabilitation and zoning) thereby contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of its people.
The total scope of Kalu Ganga Water Supply Expansion Project (I) is described by following ten packages
Package 1 – Intake and Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Facilities
Package 2 – Transmission Pipes and Distribution Feeder Mains
Package 3 – Reservoirs and Pump Stations
Package 4 – Pipe Replacement and New Installation in Dehiwela
Package 5 – Procurement of O & M Buildings and Equipment
Package 6 – Distribution Feeder Main and Secondary Pipes
Package 7 – Construction works for NRW Reduction of 19 DMAs
Package 8 – Supply and Laying of Distribution Tertiary Pipes and providing House connection
Package 9 – Supply and installation for DMA equipment Package 10 – Procurement of O & M and NRW Equipment
