Outer Circular Highway to the City of Colombo – Construction Supervision of Kadawatha to Kerawalapitiya Section  [Local Funded ]

The Outer Circular Highway (OCH) to the City of Colombo is a new access controlled highway, linking Colombo – Katunayake Expressway (CKE) and Southern Transport Development Project (STDP). It is 10 – 15 kms away from the City Centre and 29.10 kms long in total. It will connect the North and South more quickly as a by-pass to the Colombo City and disperse the traffic from / to Colombo more effectively, resulting in easing traffic congestions in the Colombo Metropolitan area.

The Kadawatha – Kerawalapitiya section of the Outer Circular Highway, connecting Colombo-Katunayake Expressway to OCH is of length 9.3km. The road trace passes through mainly poor soft ground including large section consisting of paddy sub-soil

The Highway in to be constructed to 4-lane standard with 4 nos 3.5m wide lanes with 2.0 m wide center – median 3.0m wide shoulder. The scope of work includes Roadway excavation, embankment formation, soft soil treatment

Construction of 5.8 Km viaducts 5 nos overpass bridges,02 nos underpass bridges retaining walls and Interchange at kerawalapitiya   Construction of road pavement and entire drainage system for the expressway
